Husqvarna chainsaw model reviews
Husqvarna 240 Review
We will start our list with the Husqvarna 240.
If sawing is your hobby and your main activities are prunning and lighter cutting, pay close attention to this model.
It is one of the smallest Husqvarna models, but when you compare it to other chainsaws with similar size, you can easily notice that it is much powerful.
It is true that it can’t handle tasks that other models can, but a small engine is a great benefit.
The chainsaw has an engine of 38 cc and it weighs only 10.3 pounds in total, which is good news for both amateur and professional operators.
In combination with a 16” bar, that a really good machine you get.
Husqvarna takes care of the vibration, so this model like many others have an anti-vibration feature.
Combine that with the fact that this is a lightweight machine and you will see why many users pick this one as their favorite.
Plus, it has an anti-kickback feature for maximum safety.
In case of kickback, the chain stops immediately preventing any possible injuries.
Isn’t that cool?
Let’s get back for a moment to the engine.
Thanks to the combined choke/stop control the starting is made easy and the risk of engine flooding has been reduced.
The X-Torq mark means that the engine is fuel efficient and it has reduced emissions which is great for the environment.
The engine life is prolonged because of the air injection system that removes dust and debris and the good thing about this is that you won’t need to clean the filter often.
You can easily adjust the chain with the chain-sizing tool, and it will take you about several minutes, so your chain will never be too tight or too loose.
This is a very durable model and doesn’t require more than just the regular maintenance, from time to time, so you won’t need to spend additional money for services.
The Husqvarna 240 is one of the cheapest models, and its price is a bit below the $200 mark. Our rating for it would be 3.7 stars.
|Lightweight||Designed only for lighter tasks|
|Easy to start&operate||Only for hobby works|
|Lower fuel consumption and fewer emissions|
Husqvarna 435E Review
But maybe you are not satisfied with the performances from the previous model, what are your choices?
Well, you should definitively consider this one as it is very similar. It is a lightweight machine, weighing only 9.2 pounds.
So, let’s start with the engine first.
It has a very powerful engine of 40.9 cc, designed for lower fuel consumption and fewer fumes, as the X-Torq feature is following the world’s rules for environment saving.
It has a SmartStart feature, so the start is very easy, plus, you have a start/stop switch.
The Air Purge removes and air from carburetor and the fuel system, so you won’t have troubles when starting the engine.
Large dust and debris won’t reach to the air filter, which means fewer problems for you, clean air filter, and less time spent on maintenance.
Although it is a lightweight machine, Husqvarna didn’t forget to implement their LowVib feature that reduces the fatigue and make the operating much easier.
So, what is new in this model? Why should you choose this over the Husqvarna 240?
Well, this is what makes it unique. It has an inertia activated chain brake that increases your safety while operating so it is less likely to get injured because of kickback.
This model has a special rear handle for maximizing the comfort and you can use the chainsaw for hours.
You can access the chain very easy, as it has a chain-tensioner mounted on the side.
It comes with a chain bar of 16”, which is good for many different activities. However, if you prefer an 18” one, you can easily replace it.
The price for this model is higher compared to the previous one, but it is still a reasonable price for the quality you get.
Considering everything we said, a rating of 3.7 stars would be fair.
|Easy to start&operate||Limited to several activities|
|Lower fuel consumption and fewer fuel emissions|
Husqvarna 440 Review
The Husqvarna 440 is very similar to the Husqvarna 435E, however, it has some great features so we couldn’t create our list without this one.
We will start with its engine of 40.9 cc that has a power output of incredible 2.4 HP.
The starting is very easy, thanks to the stop/choke control and we can’t forget about SmartStart feature that allows starting with minimal effort.
The X-Torq feature follows very strict regulations about fumes, and that means fewer emissions.
Plus, it is fuel efficient which is great news for every gas-powered chainsaws lover.
Just as many other Husqvarna models, it has a centrifugal air cleaning system that prevents debris and dust to reach to the air filter.
This means two things – you won’t need to clean your filter often and your engine will last longer than without the air injection system.
The chain tensioner is mounted on the side, that offers easy chain access and tensioning.
This model comes with an 18” chain bar, which is pretty good. It weighs 15.1 pounds, and it is a lightweight, all-around chainsaw.
What about safety?
No need to worry, as this model has an inertia chain brake, so in case of kickback the chain will stop immediately preventing any injuries. I
n addition, this model has the LowVib feature implemented in it. It reduces the vibration, so the operation is easier and you won’t be tired even after hours of using it.
If chainsaw with easy start and even easier operation are what you are looking for than this might become your favorite chainsaw.
The price is around $250 mark, which is a good price for the performance this chainsaw has to offer. We would rate it with a 3.9 out of 5 stars.
|Powerful||Not suitable for many different activities|
|Easy to handle|
Husqvarna 445 Review
The Husqvarna 445 is real proof that Husqvarna constantly works on making their tools better and when you see the features, you will notice what I am talking about.
It is all around chainsaw, but much more powerful than any other before. It has an engine of 45.7 cc with a power output of 2.8 HP.noopener
The choke/stop control offers easy start functionality and thanks to the SmartStart you can start this chainsaw with minimal effort.
The engine is fuel efficient and it has reduced emissions that are harmful to the environment.
It has a quick-release air filter for air replacement, as well as an air injection feature that takes care of dust and debris so you can be sure that your engine will last longer and you won’t need to clean the air filter after every use.
You will get a 16” chain bar, but you can switch it with up to 20” if you prefer that.
It has a side-mounted chain tensioner, for easier tensioning.
Now, we have come to the most important part and that is – operating with this chainsaw.
We can say it is a lightweight chainsaw, weighing in at 17 pounds.
It isn’t much different from the previous model, as it has the same LowVib feature for less fatigue.
The inertia activated chain brake prevents any possible injuries due to kickback.
Then, what is new about this model? Almost every feature we mentioned above is present in other models? Why should you choose this over them?
It has a visible fuel indicator that shows you the fuel level all the time.
Precision cutting may be a problem, especially for new users, so the feeling marks on this Husqvarna model can help you with that.
Another great thing is the air purge, that removes air from the fuel system or the carburetor so the starting is even easier.
The snap-lock cylinder cover saves you time when you change spark plugs and clean your chainsaw.
All in all, these reasons should convince you that this is one of the models you should consider buying if you are looking for a quality chainsaw. The price is around the $350 mark and our rating for it would be 4.2 stars.

The inertia activated chain brake prevents any injuries in case of kickback. You will get this model with an 18” chain bar, but it could be easily replaced with 2” bigger one.
But, what about the air filter?
It is made in a way that can prolong the life of the engine, without spending hours in servicing it.
If you are not convinced by now, the snap-lock cylinder cover, as well as the visible fuel level features will definitively help you.
For a price a bit more than $300, it is a great pick for both professionals and amateurs. We would rate this one with 4.2 stars.

This model has a chain bar of 28”, which is the biggest one on our list.
Tensioning is made easy, as you can easily access the chain through the side-mounted tensioner.
Felling marks is a great feature for this model, as 28” chain bar is quite big.
Then, how do you operate with it?
It doesn’t weigh much for sure, as 14.9 pounds is not much for a 60 cc engine, but the chain bar can cause you troubles.
Luckily, there are features apart from the felling marks to help you with that too.
This model has a LowVib system that reduces the fatigue, and inertia activated chain brake for increased safety in case of kickback.
What is very different from the previous model, the asymmetrically positioned rear handle combined with the front handle ergonomics offers maximum comfort while operating.
Husqvarna really took care of the design in order to make it easier for operating and another proof for that is the optimized saw body.
The snap-lock cylinder cover saves you time when cleaning and changing spark plugs and the crankcase is something you should carefully take a look at. The magnesium crankcase ensures long engine life and withstands high revolutions per minute.
But, not everything is that perfect and the biggest disadvantage of this model is definitively its price. It costs over $1000, but it is the most powerful chainsaw available on the market.
If you are looking for a machine for logging and large removals, this is the perfect choice for you. Our overall rating for it would be 4.4 out of 5 stars.

Husqvarna 395 XP Review
If the Husqvarna 576 XP is a beast, this one is a monster chainsaw.
There isn’t any other chainsaw on the market that has better performances than this one.
First, let’s start with the engine. It isn’t fuel efficient and doesn’t have feature for reduced harmful emissions, but take a look at this.
This model has an incredible engine of 93.6 cc. Yes, you have read that right, 93.6 cc with a power output of 6.97 HP.
This is the last generation of Husqvarna models and it is designed for activities that no other chainsaw can handle.
Starting the machine is easy and quick thanks to the SmartStart, that allows starting with minimal effort.
You can adjust the oil flow with the oil pump, as you will need different amounts of oil in different weather conditions and on different applications.

The specially designed magnesium crankcase is resistant to high rpms and ensuring long engine life.
But how do you handle this monster?
That isn’t easy for sure, but there are some features to help you with that.
The LowVib feature reduces the vibration and solves one of the biggest problems for operating big chainsaws.
This chainsaw weighs about 17 pounds, so only the anti-vibration feature won’t be enough.
That is why Husqvarna included a front handle for better control and maximum comfort.
The inertia chain brake is here to stop the chain if a kickback occurs and prevent any injuries.
The price is expensive, but what else can we expect for the most powerful chainsaw in the world? We will rate this one with 4.9 stars.

|Easy start||Less features|
|Designed for the heaviest tasks|
Husqvarna 136 Review
This is one of the battery-powered chainsaw that we will include on our list. Keep on reading if cutting branches, pruning and felling smaller trees are activities that you often do.
The biggest advantage of this model is that is silent, so you can use it for hours and none of your neighbors will notice.
The engine here is powered by a LiOn battery for long-lasting, but it also has a special feature, called savE for maximum routine.
What makes it similar to the gas-powered models is the tool-less tensioning system that allows tensioning your chain without any tools.
This model has a small chain bar of only 12”.
This model doesn’t have an anti-vibration feature, but it does have a front handle for better comfort as well as an ergonomic handle for easier access to the controls.
It has a chain break window, which that it has improved the design so the guide bar tip is visible.
The flip-up tank cap is easy to open and in order to increase safety, they added the inertia chain brake so any injuries can be prevented.
Since it is a battery chainsaw, it weighs about 10 pounds and you can buy it for a bit more than $300.
Carving is why people often buy this chainsaw, as it is also good at that.
My rating for it would be 4.5 stars.
|Great design||Hard to find|
|Silent||Limited to lighter activities|
This model is very difficult to find, so you may be out of options for a carving chainsaw.
Does that mean that operators whose main activity is carving won’t find a chainsaw? Of course, not!
Luckily, we will review some other models that are great for the same activity and offer you the best one.

You will get it for about price $300, which is a good price for a battery-powered model and it is worth every single cent of it. We would rate this one with a 4.4 out of 5 stars.

Husqvarna T536Li XP Review
The previous battery model may not be exactly what you were looking for. Then, what should be your choice? What chainsaw should you choose for carving?
The answer is – Husqvarna T536Li XP. What makes this model so special?
Let’s start with the brushless motor, that is up to 25% more efficient compared with a brush motor.
This is important for you as it means high, but also consistent torque.
Many people don’t go for this model mainly because its powered by a battery.
However, the 36 V battery provides equal power, so you won’t even notice that you are using a battery chainsaw.
Plus, one charge you will cut as much as you would cut with one gas tank and the advantage here is that you do not pollute the environment.
You may be wondering if you can use the battery for other machines?
Many people don’t like buying a battery for every machine, so if you are one of those you will be glad to hear that this battery is compatible with other Husqvarna models.
The battery accessories will help you get the job done as quick and as easy as possible.
For maximum routine, you have the savE feature and we can’t forget the flip-up tank cap that is very easy to open.
Now, let’s continue to something that is completely new from Husqvarna.
The belt eye let feature makes it very easy to connect the saw to climbing harness.
The chainsaw of 14” is special as it provides fast and smooth cuts.
Loosing the bar nuts is something you don’t want to happen, so this model has a solution to this problem – the retaining function prevents loosing the bar nuts.
The intuitive key pad is very easy to operate and we need to mention the safety feature – the inertia chain brake.
It stops the chain immediately in case of kickback, preventing any injuries.
Without the chain, this model weighs about 5.29 lbs, so it won’t be hard to operate with it. Its price is about $400, a real and fair price for this battery chainsaw.
|Equally powerful as gas chainsaws||Charger and battery are not included|
|Easy to operate|
Chainsaw vs chainsaw
As we gradually moved through the chainsaws, you could easily notice that every model has very similar features with the one it follows.
However, there are not the same machines and have many different features.
In this section, we will make a clear distinction of what exactly those differences are.
You will easily see what makes every model special when you see its characteristics faced with another model.
Husqvarna 240 vs Husqvarna 435e
These two chainsaws are pretty similar, but you will see that there are many features that make them completely different.
For example, the Husqvarna 240 has one great future that this other model can only dream about and that is- the combined stop/choke control for easier start and prevention of engine flooding.
On the other hand, the Husqvarna 435e have other features to show off.
Let’s start with the easy start feature, which is a system that tries to compete with the combined function on the previous model.
It has felling marks, for better precision which is a rare feature amongst chainsaws.
It has a special rear handle for better comfort and a fuel indicator that shows the fuel level.
Take a look at the side-mounted tensioner for easily accessing the chain and the snap-lock cylinder cover that saves you time when cleaning and changing spark plugs.
Plus, the 435e model is more powerful as it has a 40.9cc engine, compared with the 38cc from the 240.
The 435 is also lighter model weighing 9.2 pounds, while the 240 weighs 10.3 pounds.
Husqvarna 435e vs Husqvarna 440
Now, let’s compare the 435e with the Husqvarna 440.
The 435e offers great comfort thanks to the ergonomic handles and the felling marks will give you more precise cuttings.
Snap-lock cylinder cover makes the cleaning much easier process.
What else can make this model different?
It has a transparent fuel indicator and that is not all.
Probably the most important feature of all is the Air Purge, that removes the air from the carburetor and fuel system.
And now, a bit about the other model, that doesn’t have many features apart from the SmartStart. Thanks to this feature, the engine can be started very quickly with minimal efforts.
The Husqvarna 440 has a bigger chain bar, while the 435e is definitively the lighter model.
Both models are really similar, so choose your favorite according to your needs.
Husqvarna 440 vs Husqvarna 445
As we showed above, the Husqvarna 440 is a great quality model with many features.
But, let’s see what happens when you compare it to the 445 model.
Husqvarna 455 has the same features as the 440 does, and it looks much superior and you will see why.
The 445 has an engine that is easy to start, but what is its biggest advantage is the quick-release air filter for air replacement.
We can’t forget the Air Purge which removes all the air from both carburetor and the fuel system.
Another advantage of the 445 is the fuel indicator, which shows the fuel level and of course, felling marks for increased precision.
All in all, the 445 model wins this “battle”.
We have seen the features, but not everything goes in favor of the 445.
For example, the 440 weighs 2 pounds less and has an 18” chain bar compared to the 16” on the 445.
However, the 445 model is more powerful with an engine 45.7 cc, while the 440 engine is 40.9cc.
Husqvarna 445 vs Husqvarna 450
As we go further, you will see that there aren’t many differences between the models.
Why does that happen?
Well, as we are moving towards more quality models, the small things are the ones that create the difference as many of those models will satisfy the needs of the operators.
The 445 model can offer 2 features that the other one can’t – the quick-release air filter for air replacement and the side-mounted chain tensioner for easier accessing the chain.
On the other hand, the 450 model has something other to offer, and that is more comfort thanks to the ergonomic rear handle.
The Husqvarna 450 has a more powerful engine, it weighs about 6 pounds less than the Husqvarna 445 and it has an 18” chain bar, 2 inches bigger than its competition.
Knowing all of this, we leave it up to you to decide who is the winner here.
Husqvarna 450 vs Husqvarna 450E
This would definitely be the hardest comparison.
Well, this is basically like comparing two same models.
The e-series is a bit better version than the regular one, but the two models aren’t much different.
Logically, the e-series version is the better one, even though there is one feature that makes it different.
The key difference is that the Husqvarna 450E has tool-less chain tensioning and the Husqvarna 450 does not.
With tool-less chains tensioning feature, you can adjust your chain very quickly and easily.
I guarantee it won’t take you more than just several minutes.
The most important thing here is that you don’t need any tools.
Apart from this, the regular 450 model and the Husqvarna 450E have completely the same features.
The two versions have the same engine and chain bar, the only difference here is that the e-series model weighs a bit more (about 8.5 ounces), because of the feature added.
Husqvarna 450E vs Husqvarna 450 Rancher
Now, let’s compare the better version of this two with a Rancher model.
In this comparison again, the tool-less feature is what makes the 450E very different.
It allows you to tension the chain very fast and it doesn’t require any tools.
Pretty good, right?
But what can the 450 Rancher has to offer?
Well, first of all, the Husqvarna 450 Rancher is equipped with a special chain bar from Husqvarna, called the X-Cut.
Plus, it has a fuel pump, so you can control the oil flow depending on the application or on the weather conditions.
This is one of the greatest inventions from Husqvarna and you will like it for sure.
Both models use the same engine, weighs exactly the same, the only thing that is different here is the chain bar – the Rancher has a chain bar of 20”, while the e-series model has an 18″ bar, shorter chain bar by 2 inches.
Husqvarna 450 Rancher vs Husqvarna 455 Rancher
Husqvarna continuously upgrades their models and produces new with more and better features.
We explained the advantages of having the 450 Rancher, but what happens when we compare it with the 455 Rancher?
There are not many differences, but there are definitively improvements in both models.
So, the 450 Rancher has a snap-lock cylinder cover that makes the process of changing spark plugs easy, but also you won’t need much time to clean it.
On the other side, the Husqvarna 455 Rancher has a side-mounted chain tensioner.
It helps very much as it offers easier access to the chain and quick tensioning.
Their engines are different, the 450 Rancher has a 50.2 cc engine, whilst the 455 Rancher has a more powerful 55.5 cc engine.
Their weighs are nearly the same, and both models have a chain bar of 20”.
As you can see, these models are different but pretty similar, the features that make difference between them are minor.
Husqvarna 455 Rancher vs Husqvarna 460 Rancher
It may sound weird, but you can find chainsaws with more-less the same features. It is the case with these two models, the Husqvarna 455 Rancher and the Husqvarna 460 Rancher. However, this doesn’t mean that there is no difference between them. Comparing these models can be made based on other criteria, as they have completely the same features.
How to recognize the difference?
It is simple, just check their specifications.
For example, the 460 Rancher has a more powerful engine, more precisely an engine of 60cc.
Compared to the 455 Rancher that has a 55.5 cc, we can see why the 460 Rancher is a better choice.
Plus, the Husqvarna 460 Rancher weighs only o.2 pounds more and have an incredible chain bar of 24”, much bigger than the 20” bar on its opponent.
Check your budget first, but our winner here is the 460 Rancher, without any doubts.

These are two very powerful Husqvarna machines.
The 460 Rancher has an Air Purge system for removing air from the carburetor and fuel system.
And what about the 576 XP, what can offer this model?
It strikes back with a heavy duty air filter that is easily accessible and is able to handle a high volume of airflow.
The snap-lock cylinder cover isn;t something new, but it saves you much time when changing spark plugs and cleaning.
The body of the chainsaw is smooth and well-protected, which is also important for the handling.
Plus, it has a magnesium crankcase that withstands high rpm and tough using.
But that is not everything, as you need to check its specifications.
The 576 XP has an engine of 73.5 cc, way bigger than the 60cc of the 460 Rancher.
The 576 XP weighs about 2 pounds more with 14.9 pounds, but it has a 28” chain bar, even 4” bigger than the other model.
Husqvarna 576XP vs Husqvarna 395XP

Very similar, but different in some aspects.
The 576XP has more features, so let’s start with them.
Firstly, it has an X-Torq engine for lower fuel consumption and lower emissions.
It has a choke/stop control for easier starting, and an improved handle design for easier operation.
The snap-lock cylinder cover saves you time when cleaning and changing spark plugs and with the side-mounted chain tensioner you will easily access and tension your chain.
In addition, the 576 XP has an optimized saw body, and the new thing is the heavy-duty air filter able to handle higher volume of air flow.
However, not everything goes in favor of this model.
The 395 XP has an engine of unbelievable 93.6 cc, while the 576 XP has an engine of 73.5 cc.
You get the 395 XP, with a chain bar of 36” and the 576 XP with a 28” chain bar.
It is hard to decide what is the winner of this battle, so we leave that to your personal taste.

Now, on the other hand, we have the T536Li XP, which has a more efficient battery powered motor that offers gas performance.
The battery can be used with other Husqvarna models as well, and the battery accessories allow you non-stop operation.
The saw can be easily connected to the climbing harness thanks to the belt eye let, and it has a special retaining function that prevents bar nuts loosing.
The chain you get with this model is also different, as it cuts more quickly than any other.
